Tim felt his cheeks flush, his face warming up quickly. He had not expected Kon to be so… Romantic. He had never imagined using such a word to describe Kon. He was so cliché, but still it made Tim’s heart flutter. He felt so important to Kon, and it made him feel like he was special. It was nice to have someone care about you enough to do this all for you. “W-wow… you really went out of your way didn’t you?” Tim looked over the park as the peaches, yellows, and pinks from the sunset soon turned into a low glow from the street lamps. “It’s beautiful.”

“Yeah…it’s nothin’ compared to you, though,” Kon said in a quiet voice, reaching to run his fingers through Tim’s hair. “And yeah, that was totally cheesy, but it’s still true!” He let himself laugh, knowing he was struggling to be suave. “Hey…Timmy,” he started out with an edge of nervousness, “I know we’ve only been datin’ for a little bit, but you really mean a lot to me. Like the world! And I just want you to know…that I love you.” His cheeks tinted pink as the words left his lips, his gaze holding Tim’s pleadingly, fearing rejection. 

Tim stared at him surprised and slightly shocked, had he just heard him right? He loved him? Tim’s face matched the color of his red button up under his black jacket. “I… Kon… I … I love you too,” He smiled somewhat relieved that he didn’t have to be the one to say it first. “I love you so much, Kon,” Tim bit his lip to keep himself from rambling about the boy. He really thought he was amazing and perfect.

Tim chuckled, “I’ll keep that in mind while I think about it,” he tried some more rolls and enjoyed everything. “This place is amazing,” he leaned back after filling himself up. “What about you?”

“Isn’t it?” Kon ate his fill of sushi and waved over the waiter. “Are you ready for the next surprise, Timmy?” The boy grin and discretely whispered to the waiter, telling him to put the bill on Clark’s tab. The waiter nodded and bowed before leaving. Kon stood and helped Tim out of his chair, smiling from ear to ear as he lead him back out of the restaurant. Out front, a beautiful horse-drawn carriage waited for them. “Right this way, Mr. Drake,” Kon said in a smug voice, taking Tim’s hand as he helped him up into the carriage. 

Tim was busy watching the chefs work at the hibachi bars and was surprised when Kon was standing before him. “Another surprise?” He tilted his head, “What else could you possibly have planned?” He took Kon’s hand and walked with him out to the carriage his jaw dropping when he saw it. “K-Kon! H-how?!” He didn’t know how he had gotten it, but at this moment Tim was just so excited to enjoy it. “Kon…,” Tim didn’t know what else to say as they climbed into the carriage. Tim felt so loved, no one had ever gone this far to bring him such happiness.

“Like it?” Kon asked softly, watching Tim’s face for his reaction. His heart swelled in his chest when he saw the excitement on his face, knowing he did well. He sat next to Tim and wrapped his arm around the smaller boy’s shoulders, holding him close against his side. “This is all for you, babe,” he said with a chuckle as they started moving. They were taken to the park at the heart of the city, the evening lights just starting to come on. Lightening bugs started to flutter about the quiet park. “Pretty huh?” Kon whispered in Tim’s ear before pressing a little kiss to his cheek.

“Surprise?” Tim asked tilting his head to the side, “really?” He picked up his chopsticks and picked up a philly roll and took a bite. “mm” he closed his eyes pleased, “this is great.” Soon something clicked, “Little birdy?” He gave him an amused look.

Kon grinned sheepishly as he quickly stuffed some seaweed salad into his mouth. “Mmhmm…yanno, it’s kinda cute, right? Like you.” His cheeks tinged a little pink and he tossed his curls back from his face with a gentle laugh.

Tim’s cheeks also took on a light pink glow as he took a bite at another type of roll that he hasn’t tried before, “I guess I should come up with a nickname that matches you.” Tim smiled thinking to himself about what could possibly work.

“Ha, really? Hm…something sexy…and manly…Oh! And awesome! And cool,” he rambled on, grinning widely as he lounged back in his chair. He was totally showing off, but he knew it never really phased Tim much, making him do it just to get a laugh out of him.

Tim took a moment to think about it, and maybe it would be fine, maybe Kon just saved someone’s life and they knew the person that owned the place and he just got free dinners. Yeah that’s it. Right? “I will leave it in your hands than,” Tim smiled.

“I have plans for us all night!” Kon puffed out his chest proudly, “I wanted everything to be special and perfect!” He grinned eagerly as their appetizers come, breaking apart his chopsticks with excitement. “Ready to dig in?” 

Tim looked over the impressive platter amazed at how well it was presented, “W-wow this is beautiful.” He grinned and broke his own chopsticks picking up a piece enjoying it, “w-wow.. it tastes as good as it looks.” He wiped his mouth with his napkin and turned to Kon, “So what all do you have planned?”

“Yeah, doesn’t it? This place got like 5 out of 5 stars,” he said as he stuff two rolls of sushi in his mouth at once, “Only the best for my little birdy. And like hell I’ll tell ya! That would just ruin the surprise!”

“A-are you sure?” Tim asked hesitantly, wondering if he really meant it or if he was bluffing. “W-well.. what do you suggest?” Tim felt this was best to see what Kon felt most comfortable getting. But something didn’t see right, the chef came to see them, he got reservations that were nearly impossible, and he was very casual about this whole thing. Something was definitely off.

Kon leaned over to point at Tim’s menu, “I really like their noodle bowls, but that’s just me. We could also share a few sushi rolls together. Do you like spicy? We could also get a serving of that…OH! And that!” He pointed out all of his favorite dishes from the last time he was here. And last time, he tried the whole menu, so he was definitely an expert. 

“Well, how about I let you order then,” Tim set down the menu, “You seem to know it pretty well.” He had a feeling that Kon found a way to convince them to give him free food. Somehow… He would figure it out one way or another.

“Ha, okay! I won’t let you down!” He ordered a bunch of dishes and sushi rolls, hoping to continue to impress Tim. He had the night all planned out in his head, and he wasn’t going to let anything ruin it. After ordering, he snuck a little kiss to Tim’s lips, the smile never fading from his face.
